Materials
As a European brand for workwear, it is our duty to ensure that the product is fundamentally safe and sustainable. The goal is that companies across Europe can trust that their workwear positively contributes to work performance. We continuously work on a safe and sustainable product by lowering its environmental impact and working with an ECO-design:
- We make conscious choices for sustainable, durable raw materials.
- We minimize the use of harmful chemicals.
- We generate as little waste as possible throughout the production process.
Minimizing the Use of Harmful Materials
Tricorp products comply with the current European REACH regulation. For chemicals with higher environmental risks, such as biocides, PFAS, and microplastics, we are looking for alternatives in collaboration with existing suppliers. The consequences for quality standards, availability, cost, etc., are carefully considered.
Waste Reduction
Tricorp aims for 50% of the product and transport packaging to come from sustainable and certified sources by 2025. Excess packaging is avoided, provided that the item reaches the customer without damage. By 2030, 100% of packaging will be reusable or recyclable (Green Deal).
Promoting the Use of Sustainable and Quality Raw Materials
Tricorp has compiled a list of preferred raw materials: renewable materials or materials with a lower environmental impact than their virgin alternatives. Step by step, conventional cotton is being replaced by organic, BCI, or recycled cotton, and synthetic fabrics are being replaced by bio-based options. Recycled polyester from PET bottles is currently used. Alternatives must meet Tricorp's fabric and product quality standards and not compromise the lifespan of the item.
